• What are the benefits to a rubber door?

  The benefits of rubber doors are safety, durability, and savings. When compared to operations that use steel doors, facilities with rubber doors have fewer injuries on average, limited repair needs due to being impactable, and lower energy and maintenance costs.

  Safety

  The springless operation design of rubber doors reduces injuries associated with torsion springs found on steel doors. At PerforMax, all our doors come standard with Inertia Brake and Reflective Photo Eye safety features. The Inertia Brake stops your door from free falling if power supply is interrupted. The Reflective Photo Eye uses an infrared beam to detect movement when the door is closing. Once the beam is interrupted, the door will roll back up.

  Durability

  Rubber doors can withstand harsh industrial environments and can take a hit, literally. Whether from heavy machinery, trucks, or forklifts, our door will take the impact and easily reset back into the guides.

  Savings

  A rubber door from PerforMax will cut down energy and maintenance costs. The quick opening and closing speeds lead to less time for the energy in your building to escape and ultimately lower heating and cooling bills. You’ll also see a reduction in maintenance and repair costs, as rubber doors have fewer wear parts and can take an impact without being damaged. • Can you add windows to a rubber door?

  Windows can be added to rubber doors to improve visibility in your facility. The standard size of vision windows for rubber curtain doors is 14”x14” and depending on the size of your door, two or more can be added windows to your rubber curtain.

• What is the difference between a MaxDock, MaxPro, and MaxSpeed?

  MaxDock: Ideal for high damage high traffic loading docks. Comes with the option of a Direct Drive motor or a manual chain hoist if there’s no need for a motor. Max Size 12’ x 12’
  MaxPro: A low profile footprint for your facility. Economic traditional door replacement. Max Size 18’ x 18’
  MaxSpeed: Perfect for high use application. Our fastest door with the most safety features available. Max Size 40’ x 30’

Cost

• Are rubber doors expensive?

  Rubber doors have a higher upfront cost than traditional roll up steel doors but offer a significantly lower lifetime cost. Much like solar panels, investing in rubber doors will save you money in the long run. Rubber doors offer lower maintenance costs and reduced energy costs compared to rolling steel doors.

• How does a rubber door affect energy savings?

  Rubber doors reduces energy costs in two ways. A rubber roll-up door can have up to 4x the opening speed of a rolling steel door resulting in less energy lost during operation. It also provides a better seal from the exterior. The less air infiltration into your facility, the less you lose on heating and cooling costs. We’ve had a client let us know after installing our door, their energy costs were cut by 30%.  

Warranty

• What’s is the Warranty policy?

  Limited Lifetime Warranty on the rubber curtain > 2-year warranty on the motor > 1-year warranty on all parts and components

• Does the curtain tear easily and is it covered under the warranty?

  We do not commonly see reports of tears in our rubber doors. If a tear does start to form, it’s typically found around the bottom safety edge or near the sides once pushed out of the guides with excessive force. These tears are covered under the Limited Lifetime Warranty.

• Does the seam on the curtain come apart?

  We’ve never seen the seams coming apart on our curtains, but just in case they do it’s covered with the warranty.
